My Story

"Do you know that we hear with our brain?"

I love to ask this question. The truth is, most people who come to an audiologist are looking for help with their ears.  The ears are important, but the brain is where the real work happens in helping us make sense of our auditory world.

Unfortunately, for too many children and adults with hearing difficulty, the brain is left out of the equation completely.

If your child has been told they passed their hearing test yet still struggles to listen, they might need help to hear with their brain.

If you're "too young to have hearing loss" yet you can't understand your friends in a noisy restaurant, you might need help to hear with your brain.

If you have tried the best hearing aids on the market and wear them consistently and still have trouble understanding your family, you might need help to hear with your brain.

Levy Audiology was founded to help you hear with your brain.

As a lifelong musician from Rancho Palos Verdes, California,

Dr. Levy discovered her passion for helping people hear while while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Music at UC Santa Barbara.  She went on to earn her Au.D. through UC San Diego and San Diego State University, completing original research on the effects of personal music listening on cochlear function.

Dr. Levy has extensive clinical and educational audiology training and experience.  She helps people of all ages navigate the diagnosis and management of hearing loss and Auditory Processing Disorder.

Dr. Levy particularly enjoys working with fellow musicians and audiophiles who are looking to protect their ears and hear their music the way it’s meant to be heard.

She and her husband live in San Marcos, CA along with their toddler daughter and two puppies; a Shih Tzu named Flash and an American Dingo named Illy.
